NEW- Masters Nordic Program

New Master’s Nordic Program

WVBBTS/SEF is offering a NEW introductory Master’s Program in Nordic Skiing Saturdays 12PM – 2PM, starting December 28th, 2024 – February 1st, 2025. Full registration or drop-ins are accepted. The drop rate is $50.00 for 2 hours of general instruction progressing through the 6 weeks. Full registration is $275.00 in total. This program is intended to invite those looking to either learn or for those hoping to improve their fundamentals in these disciplines. The first two weeks will include an overview of both disciplines (Classic and Skate) with a specific focus on fundamentals or skiing, balance, and control. Various teachings include tips for climbing, descending, recovering from falls, polling, and entrance/departure from parallel tracks. Information will also include discussion about proper equipment and a maintenance plan for all types of Nordic skiing. The final four weeks will focus on advancement in each technique, identifying what preference works best for individuals and of course some fun skiing together Over the six weeks, Bill will cover the trail system and rules of the road. This is not a competitive program, but an opportunity to meet people, build a new hobby and get exercise. Bill will share his experienced knowledge base. Passes, and equipment are available at the Waterville Valley Resort Nordic Center in Town Square and need to be purchased separately.

Bill Brox has a long-standing connection to WVBBTS, as a second-generation member alongside his siblings, and his grown children were third-generation alpine program participants. Bill’s ski journey began in Nordic skiing as a young athlete in the early 1970s. He competed in Nordic racing at Gould Academy, where he developed his skills and a lifelong passion for the sport. At Boston College, Bill was part of the alpine ski race team, further broadening his experience.

Since then, he has dedicated many years to coaching in the weekend alpine program, bringing a warm and welcoming presence to the team. Now retired and living full-time in the Valley, you’ll still find him on the slopes all winter, eagerly supporting and strengthening the program.
