WVA Freestyle Programs

The WVA Freestyle Program is designed for skiers who want to compete at the highest level of moguls. Skiers compete in the Eastern Championship Series (A’s) and have the opportunity to qualify for Junior Nationals, U.S. Championships, the FIS Nor-Am tour, and Junior World Championships. Waterville Valley has a long history of freestyle skiing and is the host of the 2018 and 2019 US National Mogul Championships.  WVA Moguls program allows athletes to compete at the highest level while also keeping up with a rigorous academic schedule

Training in the winter months takes place at Waterville Valley Resort on the True Grit Moguls course built by WVA Staff. In the off-season, on-snow training takes place yearly at Mt. Hood and Austria.

During the summer and fall athletes will be perfecting their acrobatic skills a the trampolines at the Thomas Barbeau Training Center and on the BagJump at Phil’s Hill on the WVA campus.

WVA has placed many athletes on the U.S. Ski Team including Olympic gold medalist Hannah Kearney.
