WVA provides Interim
Reports on the student's academic progress to
parents and home schools halfway through each
WVA academic quarter. WVA provides Report Cards
to parents and home schools at the end of each
WVA academic quarter. In the event that a home
school operates on a semester or trimester basis
then WVA can issue Report Cards to coincide with
the semester or trimester schedule rather than
the quarterly schedule provided that WVA is
advised of this schedule prior to the student’s
arrival at WVA. Students are graded on an A to
F scale for academic achievement and on a 1-5
scale for effort (1 being the highest and 5
being the lowest) in these Interim Reports and
Report Cards. A student work portfolio will
accompany the Report Card which is sent to the
home school at the end of each quarter (or
trimester or semester, as applicable). To the
extent that the WVA Dean of Studies and the
home school contact person establish a process
for more frequent provision of student work
portfolios, WVA will arrange to do so.
