WVA and Home School Interactions (cont)

When a student enrolls at WVA
, the parents should provide the WVA Dean of Studies with a list of the student’s courses and the name of the contact person at the home school who is overseeing the student’s stay at WVA.

Approximately one month prior to the student’s arrival at WVA, WVA will request the home school to provide the following information: list of courses the student will take while at WVA, name, phone number and e-mail address for each teacher, the books and resources used in teaching the course, the material that will be covered while the student is attending WVA, a full course syllabus, if available and any special materials or activities to be covered.

At least two weeks prior to the student’s arrival at WVA, the information and materials described in the previous paragraph along with an extra copy of each student text book should arrive at WVA.  In addition, the method that WVA and the home school’s administrators and teachers will work together should be established between the WVA Director of Studies and the home school contact person.  WVA recognizes that each home school operates differently, so it maintains maximum flexibility in coordinating its academic activities with home schools.

Just prior to arrival of the student at WVA, WVA will provide each WVA faculty’s name, phone number and e-mail address to the parents and home school contact person.
