Snowboard Highlights and Distinctions
The WVBBTS Snowboard Program is only eight years old
and we have already placed 3 riders on parts of the
US snowboard team-US snowboard team members Michelle
Gorgone A Team and Danny Garrity B Team and Pat
Moore Junior World Team. The WVBBTS Snowboard
Program received the prestigious USSA 2006 Snowboard
Club of the Year Award.
Several members of the WVBBTS
Snowboard team have also made the finals of the US
Open and numerous Vans Triple Crowns, Grand Prixs
and other high level competitions.
In the 2003/2004 season the
WVBBTS Snowboard Program was rated one of the top
three programs in the country by Eastern Edge ,
Snowboarder and Transworld Snowboarding, with Pat
Moore getting a feature and cover shot in Eastern
Edge. Pat has 2 video parts in the movie Commited
and the new Grenade film.
Accomplishments in the
2004/2005 and 2005/2006 seasons alone include the
following:
- WVA alumna competes in
2006 Winter Olympics in Torino
- WVA alumni make US
Snowboard Team in Alpine and Freestyle
- WVA riders make Junior
National Team
- WVA alumnus takes 5th at
World Cup in Chile
- Three BBTS Ski Club riders
finish top 3 overall at 2005 Nationals in their
age group
- BBTS Ski Club rider
finishes 2nd at 2005 Nationals in open age group
