The GROMS program is a
pre-competition snowboard development program
designed for boys and girls ages 5 - 9. The
program offers an opportunity for our youngest
riders to explore various snowboard disciplines
(half-pipe, slopestyle, BX and racing)
while doing a ton of free riding,
preparing young riders to enter the competitive
snowboard discipline(s) of their choice.
New GROMS should have the
ability to perform basic link turns down Valley
Run (a green run at Waterville Valley Ski
Area). Emphasis is placed on having fun,
developing a lifelong love for riding and
building skills all at the same time. We foster
healthy competition, good sportsmanship, team
work and social interaction along with
development of independence and responsibility.
We encourage parents to be
part of the program by talking with their
children about training, upcoming events and
activities. Providing positive reinforcement
for your children for all GROM activities will
help foster a lifelong love for riding and
winter.
