About New England’s Premiere Winter Sports School
Waterville Valley Academy (WVA) is a snowsports and academic academy located in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire designed for full time student athletes in grades 6-12 who are dedicated to pursuing the highest level of performance in alpine racing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
A History of Excellence, on Snow and in the Classroom
For over forty years, the Waterville Valley Academy has developed a unique community where students accelerate their athletic development, while thriving academically to shape high school students into exceptional winter athletes and well-rounded students.
Through our multiple winter sports training programs, WVA students are prepared for competitive and academic performance at the highest level, with alumni of every program gracing collegiate and Olympic podiums alike.
Academics at WVA
Individualized instruction for accelerated learning
To help our students succeed in the classroom and on the snow, WVA offers multiple programs that coordinate rigorous classroom instruction with equally rigorous on-snow training.
Through small class sizes and dedicated educators, WVA succeeds in guiding students to higher levels of understanding, while accelerating the learning process. At WVA, athletic performance never overshadows performance in the classroom, and a majority of students enroll in a full curriculum of honors and/or Advanced Placement courses.
WVA students reside at the WVA dormitory or other nearby locations. Over the past six years WVA has enrolled students from over 20 states and several foreign countries representing over 110 home schools. WVA has approximately 70 students.
