The JIV and JV alpine
programs form the WVBBTS development pipeline
for building strong alpine athletes for the more
competitive JI, JII, and JIII programs.
The JV program is for young athletes ages 9-10
as of calendar year end. The JIV program
is for young athletes ages 11-12 as of calendar
year end.
Most of the JIV and JV program participants’
time is spent developing racing skills and
technique and skiing in all types of conditions
and on a variety of terrain. Athletes in the
JIV and JV program compete in a limited number
of open USSA events as well as in the
Northern Division Buddy Werner League.
JIV and JV athletes aspire to win the Club
Team Trophy at the Buddy Werner Championships at
the JIV or JV level and to be placed on the JIV
or JV Buddy Werner League State Team. Top
JV athletes ultimately aspire to participate in the
Francis Piche Invitational event and top JIV
athletes aspire to participate in the Future
Stars and ultimately the Whistler Cup
competitions.
